Our History

Paraclete Place was established on June 22, 2012, inspired by Jackie Dove’s own experience with breast cancer and her deep understanding that healing requires more than medical treatment alone. Jackie was a passionate advocate for breast cancer survivors and believed that no one should have to face a difficult season alone. Throughout her life, she opened her home to friends, family, and those in need, creating a place where people could find comfort, encouragement, and respite during life's most challenging moments. Paraclete Place continues that legacy of hospitality, compassion and care.

The name Paraclete comes from the Greek word used to describe the Holy Spirit as an advocate, counselor, comforter, and sustainer. Inspired by these qualities, Paraclete Place exists to offer a place of refuge, rest, and renewal for those navigating the lasting impact of cancer.

Our Mission

The mission is to offer cancer survivors, their family members, and their friends a safe and supportive environment so they can continue their journey to wellness—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Rooted in faith and a spirit of hospitality, Paraclete Place offers a space for healing and renewal that welcomes individuals from all faith backgrounds.

Our Board

Paraclete Place is guided by a dedicated board and a caring community of volunteers who help carry forward Jackie Dove’s legacy of hospitality. Through their time, and service, they help ensure that every guest feels cared for and comforted during their stay.
